Obituary for Elise Fournier (Simard)

Elise Fournier (Simard)
The family announces with heavy hearts the passing of Elise Fournier (nee Simard) on the evening of Monday October 26th 2020 at Timmins and District Hospital with her husband Richard Fournier at her side. Elise enjoyed spending her time at the cottage, out-fishing everyone on the boat, reading a good book in her favourite chair in her comfy slippers, working in her garden in the summer. But most of all she loved being surrounded by her family and those she loved.

Elise will forever be remembered by her two daughters Kim (Paul) Haapakoski and Rachelle Fournier (Martin Lefebvre), her grandchildren Devin (Lianne) Haapakoski, Amy Haapakoski (Jacob Gagne), Curtis Lefebvre (Isabelle Rondeau), and Ricky Lefebvre, and her great grandchildren Hunter and Liam Perry and Oliver Haapakoski. She will also be missed by her mother Germaine Simard (Duchesne) , sisters Aline Sabourin (late Denis), Jeannine Guillemette (Jean-Come), Paulette Perry (Bert) and brother-in-law John Phillips, brother-in law Gilles Fournier (Louise) and sister-in-law Helene Vieno (Dan). Elise will also be remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. Elise is finally reunited with her father Eugene Simard, sister Annette Phillips, mother and father in-law Jeanne and George Henrie Fournier.

A huge thank you to the Bayshore team and staff in the Oncology team and Hospice Unit at the Timmins and District Hospital for the amazing care for Elise and the compassion shown to the family. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday October 29, 2020 at 2:15 p.m. at Notre Dame de la paix church. Limited space is available due to COVID-19 restrictions. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12 p.m. (Noon) to 2 p.m. at LESSARD-STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME. Respecting the current pandemic provincial guidelines, wearing of masks, physical distancing and maximum capacity will be in place. In lieu of flowers donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Oncology Program or Hospice Unit would be greatly appreciated.
