Obituary for Donna Ann Tremblay

Donna Ann Tremblay
It is with great sadness that we announce that Donna has succumbed to her lengthy illness of pulmonary fibrosis, unexpectedly at home on March 21st. Donna was born to Orval and Lillian Miller (predeceased), on August 28th,1942. She was the fourth of 5 children, her twin sister and best friend Diann being the fifth child. Having left school in grade 11, she started her career as a telephone operator at the ONR, where she met some lovely ladies, several of whom she continued to have a monthly luncheon with. In 1962 she met Jean-Guy Tremblay and his children Guy and Renee. They later married November 16th, 1963 and life as a family began. In 1968 &1972 were born her 3 other children, Lynn and twins Paul & Brian. When her children were self-sufficient she returned to the workforce as a sales clerk and later owner with Diann of the The Art Mart. During this time Donna returned to school and earned her high school diploma, of which her children were incredibly proud. After 20 years of owning a successful business, it was time to close up shop and enjoy the real loves of her life, her grandchildren. Donna was an avid knitter, crafter, golfer, reader, card player and traveler. She volunteered her time with the TDH Ladies Auxiliary, where she was always trying to recruit people. Donna leaves behind her children, Lynn Walker (Wayne), Paul (Debbie), Brian (Julie), her two step children Guy (Wilda) & Renee Comtois (Michel) Her grandchildren, Alexander Zerkee (Kathleen Smerek), Jesika Walker (Arthur Braaten) & Meghan Walker (Kent Thomson), Emma & Olivia Tremblay and Brendan & Jenna Tremblay, Jackie and Jason Tremblay and Nathanial, Joshua, Bethany, and Timothy Comtois and their families. Also left to mourn, Sister Diann Youmans (Grant) and their son Al and family, brother Donald (late Viola) and their 4 children and families. Also her extended Tremblay family. She also will be missed by Ryan Perkins, who was like a grandson to her, her Thursday Cards friends Pat, Mitch, Judy, Delores, her too many to name golf ladies and her wonderful neighbours who often looked in on and took care of some of her yard work and just kept an eye out for her, Lauretta & Rob, Nicole & Moe and Noel & Anne. Special Thank You to Judy Collings who often kept her company on Sundays. She cherished each and every one of you. Predeceased by the father of her children Jean Guy 1996, common law husband Jean Paul Leonard 2014, her sister Odney (Sis) 1998 and husband Guy Gionet 2016 and her brother Robert (Sonny) Miller 2019. Due to the world being turned upside down by COVID-19 a service will be held when social distancing and quarantines are no longer in effect. If you choose to honour Donna at this time, please make a donation to The Huntington Society of Canada, a cause very close to our family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home.
