Obituary for Denise Stevens (Larocque)

Denise Stevens (Larocque)

It is with profound sadness, the family of Denise Stevens announces her passing, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on July 7, 2020 at the Timmins and District Hospital, at the age of 65 years. She was born in Timmins on May 27, 1955 to Jules Hector Larocque (March 26, 2006) and Violet Larocque (January 15, 1985).

Denise married Terry Stevens on August 24, 1974 and enjoyed a joyful and loving marriage. The Stevens home was always welcoming and you were guaranteed to have a cup of coffee and a listening ear when you visited Denise; she made people feel unconditionally accepted. Many people were fortunate to be loved and supported in the family home. Denise loved the beauty and smell of Lilac trees and the peacefulness of hummingbirds.

Denise will be lovingly remembered by her best friend and husband of 47 years, Terry Stevens; her son Jason Stevens, her daughter Leanna (Guy) Bouffard; her grandchildren Ty Stevens, Jules Stevens, Riley Bouffard, Madison Bouffard; her siblings Guy (Karen) Larocque, Marc Larocque, Pierre (Ellen) Larocque, Monique (Paul) Kaija and Helene (Luke) Larocque; her bonus daughters Carrie (John) Drage, Candice (Jon Hruschak) Levesque, Carissa (Matt) Twele; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bob (Michelle) Stevens, Lynda Faucher, Dennis (Iris) Stevens, Ron (Lorraine) Stevens and Cheryl (Ron) Perrier. She is predeceased by her father-in-law Douglas Stevens, her mother-in-law Aurore Stevens, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Rochelle (Dick) Campaner and Diane (Donald) MacFarlane. Denise was a proud supporter of the Schumacher Lions Club.
The family would offer a special thank you to Chrissy, Shelley, Stephanie and Jonna at the Timmins and District Hospital Hospice.

In keeping with Denise wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to reminisce and remember a kind, loving and gentle woman. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home. Remembrance donations to The Schumacher Lions Club would be greatly appreciated.
