Obituary for Gregory Newton Sloggett

Gregory Newton Sloggett
SLOGGETT, Gregory Newton
1955 – 2015

It is with sorrow that the family announces his passing at the Health Sciences North Hospital in Sudbury, on Sunday July 12, 2015 at the age of 60.
Beloved brother of Richard Sloggett, Tim Sloggett, Jane Theriault-Barker, Janet Theriault-Baker and Dean Theriault. Survived by his nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Ed Sloggett and Betty Palmer.
As a talented member of the Porcupine Art Club, not a day went by where Greg didn’t pick up a paint brush and paint. It was with sheer determination that he managed to establish himself as an accomplished local artist. Greg’s art work had been in numerous exhibitions held at La Ronde and the Timmins and District Hospital; he also took part in two juried shows in Englehart. His love for art reflected in all of his paintings. Greg always had advice for those who wanted to take part in art, “Pick up a pencil and see what you come up with. If you want to do it, you will”.
A memorial gathering and reception to remember Greg’s life will be held on Saturday July 25 from 1 – 3 pm in the LESSARD-STEPHENS RECEPTION CENTRE.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
Funeral Home
Remembrance donations made to the Timmins Food Bank or to the Canadian Metal Health Association would be appreciated.
